Jameson has parted relations with Harrogate Town, according to the Harrogate Advertiser.

Harrogate Town have opted not to extend his contract at the conclusion of the season, thus he will become a free agent. He spent time on loan with Hartlepool United during the previous National League season.

Jameson, 31, will officially see his contract with Wetherby Road expire at the end of next month, and he will have to consider his future move in the game as a free agent.

The Hartlepool Mail stated last week that the Pools ‘may’ make a permanent move for him this summer as they prepare for another season in the fifth division.

According to the Harrogate Advertiser, the goalie is quitting the Sulphurites and will be available for nothing soon. He’s been at the Yorkshire club since 2022.

Hartlepool United may now lure Jameson back to the North East permanently if they desire. They are preparing for life under new manager Darren Sarll, who joined from Stevenage late last month.

Harrogate Town signed Jameson little over two years ago to bolster their goalkeeping department. He went on to play 31 matches for them across all competitions before falling out of favour this season. The stopper was loaned out to the Pools after they were relegated from League Two in July of last year.

Jameson then played 21 matches for Victoria Park before returning to his parent club. Prior to joining Simon Weaver’s team, the former Middlesbrough academy graduate played for Darlington, Blyth Spartans, and York City.

What next for Harrogate Town and Jameson?

Hartlepool United must decide whether to keep him next season or let him go to another club.

His departure from Harrogate Town frees up room and cash in their squad as they attempt to add some new players in the coming months.

Weaver’s men have been in the Football League since 2020, and they’ve done well to stay there for four years. They finished 13th last season and hope to improve. The Sulphurites ultimately fell seven points short of the play-offs.
