Former Wigan Warriors assistant coach Lee Briers is reportedly considering a fresh coaching opportunity, as per the Daily Telegraph. The buzz suggests that Briers is enthusiastic about joining the South Sydney Rabbitohs as the second in command to Wayne Bennett, with aspirations of eventually leading an NRL team himself.

Recognized as one of the most in-demand coaches across both hemispheres, Briers has previously been associated with coaching positions, including a potential role with Hull FC in the Super League. However, the nod went to John Cartwright, an assistant with the Brisbane Broncos.

Briers has already made waves in Australia, notably with the Brisbane Broncos, where he served as an attacking coach following his stint with the Warriors. His impact has been notable, especially considering his contribution to Wigan’s Challenge Cup victory in 2022 before transitioning to the NRL.

Expressing his ambition to ascend to a head coaching position, Briers has stated his readiness for the role, whether in the NRL or Super League. While acknowledging the scarcity of coaching opportunities, he remains prepared, emphasizing his commitment to learning and evolving within his current role with the Broncos.

As Briers continues to hone his coaching acumen, his journey exemplifies a dedication to growth and readiness for the next challenge. With his eye on the future, he stands poised to make a significant impact wherever his coaching path may lead.
