Matt Bloomfield has given new contracts to Chris Forino, Garath McCleary, and Franco Ravizzoli, as preparations for the 2024/25 season begin.

Kane will be given the opportunity to continue his rehabilitation at the club throughout the preseason after suffering an injury in February.

Bloomfield said, “I’m really pleased with the strength we have in the squad, and our form since the turn of the year shows that we’re in a good position to move forward and plan for an exciting season ahead of us.”
“Continuity is crucial, and it’s nice to have many of the players who have played the most minutes for us under contract for the coming season. Of course, we will miss the players who performed so well for us on loan this year, and we are very keen to see how their careers evolve beyond their time with us.
“It’s a painful choice to let players go, and I’d like to thank them for all they’ve done for the club throughout their time here. Max, in particular, was our first-choice keeper for nearly two years and was unfortunate to lose his place after his red card in February, but I know he’s eager to explore new opportunities, and we hope he can finish the season on a high during his loan with Crewe in the play-offs, and find the right move for him this summer.
“Joe got a fantastic send-off on Saturday for his 400th and final game, and he deserves all of the accolades he’s earned because he will rightfully be remembered as one of this club’s greatest players. I am confident he will be a big success in whatever he decides to do next.
“Kane has been really unfortunate with injuries, but he seemed like a really promising player for us when he went on the pitch, so we’re looking forward to assisting him in returning to full fitness and seeing what possibilities arise for him at that point.
“My team and I are already making good headway on recruitment plans for the next season, and the hard work never stops because I am passionate about building on what we’ve accomplished thus far and delivering. “We had a really strong transfer window in January, and I’d want to thank Pete Couhig for his support throughout that window, as well as for all of his help and support of me, the staff and players, and the entire club over the last five years.
He has had a big influence in what’s undoubtedly the club’s most successful period, and we owe him so much gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices he’s made, giving everything he’s had for the club and frequently spending long periods away from his family.
“He’s taken the decision to step away but the legacy he’s left here – particularly his work with the creation of the development squad – won’t be forgotten and I’m so thankful for everything he’s done.”
