Woking Football Club Teams Up with Surrey Wildlife Trust for Nature Conservation
Woking Football Club is excited to announce a new partnership with Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT), an organization committed to conserving over 5,000 hectares of land across the region. Founded in 1959, SWT has grown substantially over the years, now boasting over 26,000 members. Their mission is clear: to protect wildlife for everyone to enjoy.
This partnership marks a significant step for both parties. SWT will provide guidance to the club on sustainability and conservation efforts while granting access to its Gold Membership Scheme. WFC, in turn, will support SWT through various fundraising activities throughout the upcoming season, including the Charity Golf Day on May 9th, making SWT one of the club’s main charitable partners for the Woking Weekender.
Charlie Thefaut, Senior Partnerships Officer for SWT, expressed his excitement, highlighting the opportunity to engage more local individuals in nature preservation efforts. Simon Jones, Business Development Director for WFC, emphasized the club’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly in sustainability, and praised SWT’s expertise in advancing these goals.
This collaboration is not only about football but also about making a positive impact on the environment. Both organizations recognize the influence they can wield in promoting nature conservation in Surrey and beyond.
