The 2025 WNBA free-agent class is poised to be exceptionally robust, featuring numerous marquee players such as Tina Charles, Alysha Clark, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Mitchell, Kelsey Plum, and Breanna Stewart, among others. Among the most sought-after talents this offseason is Dallas Wings forward Satou Sabally, who has captured attention for her potential transition to a burgeoning team already anchored by a franchise superstar. In a recent TikTok video, Sabally disclosed her status as an unrestricted free agent, suggesting that a change of scenery is imminent for her in 2025.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the forthcoming offseason, Sabally noted, “So, it’s a lot of movement for me this offseason – the decision of moving with a potentially different shoe brand but also the decision to change teams.” Her declaration has generated considerable excitement among Indiana Fever fans, who promptly took to social media to advocate for her recruitment alongside Caitlin Clark and her teammates. Intriguingly, Sabally’s engagement with several comments has fueled speculation that the Fever could be a strong contender for her services.
At 6-foot-4 and 175 pounds, Sabally would provide much-needed size for the Fever, addressing one of their primary objectives as they prepare for the upcoming season. The team is particularly keen on bolstering their perimeter game, and Sabally’s impressive shooting performance—boasting a 40.6% success rate from beyond the arc over the past two seasons—positions her as an ideal candidate. Although her 2023 season was curtailed to just 15 games due to a shoulder injury that hampered her early performances, Sabally still left a significant mark on the court.
During the limited time she was able to play, the 26-year-old averaged 17.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in approximately 34 minutes per game. In the previous season, when she featured more prominently in the Wings’ rotation over 38 games, her averages soared to 18.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. As Sabally contemplates her future, the prospect of joining a competitive team like the Indiana Fever could signal a transformative chapter in her career.
