Why Cole Palmer and Mauricio Pochettino’s assistant got into a fight following Chelsea’s draw with Aston Villa

Cole Palmer expressed dissatisfaction with Chelsea’s disallowed goal against Aston Villa.

Chelsea’s players had to be restrained from referee Craig Pawson at the end of the game due to their reaction to Axel Disasi’s late disallowed goal against Aston Villa. Despite being 2-0 down in the first half, Mauricio Pochettino’s team believed they had completed a remarkable comeback in the final minute, only to have it denied.

He pulled Disasi away, intervening to separate Trevoh Chalobah and Madueke as the investigation continued. Goalkeeping coach Miguel D’Agostino arrived shortly after to disperse the Chelsea players as the situation became increasingly chaotic in the center of the pitch.

Cole Palmer managed to approach Pawson himself but was also pushed away by Perez. As Palmer received a hand to the chest, he turned to Perez, seemingly unhappy with being removed from the situation. They exchanged heated words in a brief confrontation.

Palmer quickly redirected his attention to Pawson, but Perez persisted as the mediator. Eventually, it took two Chelsea staff members to pull the 21-year-old away, but even then, he was replaced by his manager in confronting the officials face-to-face.

Disasi’s header was ruled to have occurred after a push from Benoit Badiashile on Villa defender Diego Carlos. Initially not given by Pawson, he reversed his decision after an on-field review recommended by VAR.

Pochettino was furious with the outcome, and he wasn’t the only one. At full-time, Disasi wasted no time in confronting Pawson and the officials.

Noni Madueke, who ignited the comeback with a splendid finish shortly after the break, also sought to question the referee.

However, Disasi prevented him from doing so, pushing the winger away with his right arm. Badiashile, Disasi’s former Monaco teammate, joined him in confronting Pawson as Chelsea players gathered around.

Madueke received a booking for his involvement, but Disasi pushed Badiashile away with his left hand, indicating his desire to handle the situation alone. The disallowed goalscorer was eager to speak with the referee, while Badiashile continued to gesture and stare. Chelsea assistant Jesus Perez was also quickly on the scene after the game ended
