At the time, it was the most lucrative contract in NBA history.Brown declared, “I want to attack the wealth disparity here.” “I think there is analytics that supports that stimulating the wealth gap could actually be something that could be better for the entire economy.””I think through my platform, through influential partners, through selective leaders, government officials, a lot of them are in this room, that we can come together and create new jobs, new resources, new businesses, new ideas that can highlight minorities, but also stimulate the economy and the wealth gap at the same time.”Brown’s on-court achievements are spectacular. He was selected for the 2022–23 NBA All-NBA team and went on to lead the Celtics to Banner 18 and earn MVP awards in the Eastern Conference and Finals. That’s surpassed, though, by his impact off the hardwood.His projects include the 7uice Foundation, which fights systematic racism, and the Bridge Program, which collaborates with the MIT Media Lab’s Community Biotechnology Initiative to give kids in Boston’s underprivileged neighbourhoods access to science and technology.Brown has now made a significant contribution to the city in which he stars by bringing Black Wall Street to life. The Boston Globe’s Shirley Leung reports that he introduced Boston XChange on Thursday. The goal of this non-profit project is to create $5 billion in wealth for communities of colour throughout generations.The Boston Creator Incubator + Accelerator, Boston XChange’s inaugural program, is currently accepting applications. For this project, Brown is working with the JLH Social Impact Fund, which is run by colleague Jrue Holiday and his wife, two-time Olympic gold medallist Lauren Holiday. Ten entrepreneurs in the fields of design, arts, media, entertainment, fashion, and culinary arts in the Greater Boston area will receive sponsorship from it.Brown stated, “This program equips visionary creators with the business resources and support to turn their ideas into reality.”He said, “By supporting underinvested creators, we’re working to close the billion-dollar racial wealth gap in Massachusetts.”Each startup can receive up to $100,000 in grant money over three years from the Boston XChange accelerator. Access to office space and company services worth more than $150,000 will also be provided. Applying can be done at www.bxchange.org. The deadline is August 15.Brown also disclosed his desire to create a cutting-edge facility to support the creative sector.”It will be a hub for diverse creators and entrepreneurs,” Leung was informed. It will function somewhat at the nexus of culture and business. I believe that entire towns are strengthened when the creative and cultural arts are supported.”Boston XChange will have a permanent home by the end of the year. Furthermore, he wants to ensure that its existence doesn’t obstruct the efforts of other non-profits to decrease the income gap that exists between races.”One of our goals is to identify gaps and amplify the incredible work that’s already taken place,” Brown told Leung. “We have been building resources for more than a year, but BXC is just getting started, and we can’t do it alone.”Because of this, Boston XChange will also provide cash to charitable organisations that work to lessen economic disparities.Brown intends to donate millions of dollars to Boston XChange in order to give more people an equitable chance to achieve their potential and enhance the city as a whole. Brown has already had a major positive impact on the community.What he wants is to “be part of my legacy while I’m here in Boston.” Even after his playing days with the Celtics are done, Brown’s actions and projects will undoubtedly have an impact because of his track record of success and dedication to the cause.
