One of the most rapidly expanding women’s basketball leagues in the nation is aiming for a major acquisition. Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 league founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, has set its sights on recruiting Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark, according to Front Office Sports. The league wanted to allow Clark some time to “rest and enjoy golfing” during the WNBA offseason, but sources indicate that Unrivaled intends to reach out to her “in the coming weeks.” “Expect a full-court press,” one insider revealed.
Unrivaled recently secured a multi-year broadcast agreement with TNT Sports ahead of its debut season this winter in Miami. Among the top-tier talent already committed to the league in January are Kelsey Plum, Arike Ogunbowale, Angel Reese, and UConn sensation Paige Bueckers.
Clark, following the Indiana Fever’s first-round playoff exit against the Connecticut Sun in September, mentioned she was “almost definitely” steering clear of any basketball leagues this offseason. Instead, the WNBA Rookie of the Year has been focusing on team bonding activities and fine-tuning her skills on the golf course.
Her next notable appearance will be at the LPGA pro-am event at The Annika in Florida, slated for November 13.
