The representative of Emiliano Martinez, who has been linked with Everton, has stated that he will depart from his current club during the upcoming summer. Martinez has been with Danish team Midtjylland for the last year and a half, playing 51 matches and scoring one goal. Additionally, he has represented Uruguay twice and is listed as a reserve for the Copa America.
As per his agent Mauricio Machado, who spoke to Uruguayan radio Sport 890, Everton have previously expressed interest in the 24-year-old midfielder. Martinez, with three years left on his contract, is expected to leave Midtjylland once the transfer window opens at the season’s end.
Reports suggest that Everton’s interest in Martinez persists. Machado stated, “Emiliano is currently performing excellently. He’s playing regularly, earning a spot on the Copa America reserve list. He’ll be leaving Denmark in June. We have interest from Premier League and Spanish teams. Everton showed interest in him previously and are now interested again. It could be a viable option for the middle of the year. We’ll consider it.”
