These former Peterborough United players return to London Road next season, Cheers or jeers?

When former Peterborough United players return to London Road to play for other clubs, they are often treated with respect. But will this be the case when these aging players return for League One games next season?

The PT’s expected reception rating is provided here.

1. JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS

He only joined a potential League One promotion opponent a few days ago, but that should not impact the greeting he receives at London Road. It will be one fit for a promotion champion, double Golden Boot winner, captain, nerveless scorer of a goal that secured a Championship position, and mentor to one of the most exciting Posh sides in history. Reception rating: 10/10. Photo: Joe Dent.

2. JACK MARRIOTT

Another Posh Golden Boot winner will return to moneybags Wrexham, although he has only started three games (one goal) since moving from Fleetwood to North Wales in the January transfer window, so he may not be seen on the pitch. Always worked hard for Posh, even if his second time at the club ended poorly, owing primarily to the presence of Clarke-Harris. Reception rating: 7/10.

3. PETER KIOSO

Posh supporters fell in love with this effervescent right-back during his five-month loan stay from Rotherham United last season, and they still miss him. I believe he will only return to Rotherham in the red jersey. Reception rating: 10/10. Photo: Joe Dent.

4. CHRISTY PYM

Last season, the pint-sized goalkeeper helped Mansfield win promotion from League Two by knocking Posh out of the League Cup. He was fine at Posh until a lack of mobility limited his effectiveness. Silly anti-Darren Ferguson statements and gestures ensued. He will need a hard hat and earplugs on London Road. Reception rating: 1/10. Photo: Joe Dent. Photo Sales

5. SIRIKI DEMBELE

A fantastic player to watch at Posh. Excellent dribbler, prolific goal scorer, and member of an elite forward line alongside Sammie Szmodics and Ivan Toney. However, his less-than-subtle attempts to secure a transfer away from London Road blemished his reputation among many Posh fans. Birmingham’s futile battle against relegation intensified. Reception rating: 5/10. Photo: Joe Dent.

6. ETHAN HAMILTON

He won a promotion with Posh and was a regular starter in the Lincoln City team that finished last season on fire, but he shouldn’t be pardoned for a terrible tackle on Posh defender Nathan Thompson at Accrington Stanley one night. Fans do not forget such things. Reception rating: 4/10. Photo by Nathan Stirk.

7. RYAN TAFAZOLLI

He was a good player for Posh, making over 131 appearances. He later joined Wycombe Wanderers. Reception rating: 6/10. Photo: Joe Dent.
