Shaquille O'Neal's former agent enters the Caitlin Clark debate: She has a bit of a target on her back | MarcaShaquille O’Neal, an NBA star and Hall of Famer, recently talked about the WNBA rookie class and shared his thoughts on Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark. Although O’Neal has publicly backed Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, he also highly praised Caitlin Clark for her outstanding WNBA debut.

O’Neal hailed Caitlin Clark’s outstanding 31-point performance against the Chicago Sky, which he saw in person last weekend, in an interview with Sports Illustrated on Thursday.

Regarding the Fever’s sensational rookie, Clark, Shaq remarked, “he does everything right.” After breaking the NCAA all-time scoring record and making it to two national championship games during her time at Iowa, Clark entered the league with much hype and had an incredible debut season.

Shaq giving props to Caitlin Clark

Since Angel (Reese) is my girl, I never talked about her before, but I can honestly state that Caitlin Clark is real. I’m trying to be angry while I watch her play, but she makes the right play and pass. She is beaten up by girls, but she doesn’t really complain. Even at this early stage of her career, she is excellent.

With the Fever, Caitlin Clark has had an incredible debut season. She has averaging 24.6 points, 9.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 steals per game since the WNBA’s Olympic break. Her field goal percentage is 50%, and her three-point percentage is 38.6%.

Since the intermission, the Indiana Fever have improved their total record to 17-16 with a 6-1 record. They are now vying for the fifth seed in the playoffs after finishing last season at the bottom of the league.

“She is very exceptional. Much respect to her, her family, her upbringing, and her playing style. Shaq went on, “I think all young girls should watch the WNBA players play, but my favorites are Clark and Reese.”

In a game, Clark averages 18.9 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.8 rebounds. She leads the WNBA in assists and scores more than any other rookie. Angel Reese and the rookie for the Fever are vying for Rookie of the Year.

If Clark and Chicago’s Angel Reese had a rational argument at the beginning of the season, it has now disappeared. After taking a month off, Clark has developed into a completely new and more formidable player.
