Nikola Jokic has moved one step closer to securing his third MVP award in the last four seasons.
The NBA announced the finalists for several postseason awards on Sunday, and it came as no surprise that Jokic, the standout player for the Denver Nuggets, was among the top three vote-getters for the prestigious individual accolade, the Michael Jordan trophy presented to the league’s Most Valuable Player.
Joining Jokic as finalists are Dallas’ Luka Doncic and Oklahoma City’s Gilgeous-Alexander. Joel Embiid, last season’s MVP from the Philadelphia 76ers, was ineligible this year due to a new league rule requiring players to meet a minimum number of games played for award consideration.
