Following the incident, a 43-year-old guy passed away.
Police are seeking information following a fatal crash on the A76 just south of the B713 Catrine junction. The event occurred just hours after a 34-year-old man died in a deadly crash on the A76 between Kilmarnock and Mauchline at approximately 6.55 p.m.
Around 10.15 p.m. Friday night, police got a complaint of a single-vehicle incident involving a blue Ford Fiesta Zetec that had left the road and hit with a tree. Emergency services arrived, and the car’s driver, a 43-year-old man, was pronounced dead on the site.
The road was stopped to allow for an investigation, and it reopened around 9.30 a.m.
Sergeant Martin Cunningham of the Irvine Road Policing Unit stated, “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
“Our investigation into the entire facts is ongoing, and we are requesting that anyone who was in the area and observed the incident contact us.
“I’d also like to ask anyone who was driving in the vicinity and may have dashcam film to contact us.
“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 4200 of 20 May, 2024.”
