The Whites have repositioned themselves as strong contenders for automatic promotion after a recent slump, bouncing back with a victory against Middlesbrough on Monday.

Leicester City’s triumph on Tuesday suggests that the race to join them is likely between Leeds and Ipswich Town, with Leeds scheduled to play on Friday before Ipswich.

Dan James, coming off the bench against Middlesbrough, displayed his usual high energy but suffered an injury late in the game after a collision with Alex Bangura near the dugouts. He was seen clutching his ribs in pain until the end of the match and later required gas and air on the team bus.

The club confirmed on Tuesday that the Welsh international would be sidelined for the QPR match due to a costal cartilage injury and an oblique abdominal injury.
