Posh is supposedly on the verge of signing David Kamara.
Peterborough United’s free-scoring season came to an end with a 2-1 defeat over two legs against League One rivals Oxford United.
Darren Ferguson will hope that his team does not lose faith, and that next season they can continue to push for promotion back to the promised land of the Championship.
Peterborough set to sign David Kamara
According to Alan Nixon via Patreon, they are on the verge of signing adolescent David Kamara from the London club.
According to Nixon, Kamara was pursued by Luton Town as well, but the teenage forward has decided to join London Road.
Posh fans should be excited about Kamara
David Kamara, who was released by Sheffield Wednesday, has had a breakout season at Welling United of the National League South.
Given a chance by former boss Danny Bloor, the attacker has impressed with his raw talent and a keen eye for finishing, netting his first goal in a 3-2 victory over Havant and Waterlooville at the start of the season.
Kamara told the media team about his first senior goal: “I’m buzzing, I’ve just come on the pitch, and after three touches, I’ve scored.” It’s an incredible first goal to have.
Despite just appearing a few times for the Wings, it is clear that Welling sees a bright future for their prodigy.
Allowing him to go on trial with Gillingham in the last few months of the season to see if he might gain a professional deal. Unfortunately, his stint in Kent was not beneficial, but Peterborough is apparently preparing to offer him a contract to play in League One, a tier higher than Gillingham.
While he may be a future star, it would not be surprising if the explosive forward pushed his way into Ferguson’s starting lineup next season. Posh fans should start getting excited about what Kamara can bring to the Weston Homes Stadium.
