After weeks of investigation into Liam Payne’s tragic death in Buenos Aires, three suspects have been identified and charged. The charges include supplying narcotics and neglect leading to death. Among the accused are a close associate of Liam, a hotel employee, and a suspected drug dealer. They were allegedly involved in enabling his substance use in the days leading up to his death.
Liam passed away on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. Toxicology reports revealed traces of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed antidepressant in his system, but investigators ruled out suicide or any direct physical intervention. It’s suspected that he may have fallen in a state of semi- or total unconsciousness.
The investigation relied on extensive evidence, including over 800 hours of surveillance footage and testimony from multiple witnesses. Authorities also conducted raids, seizing electronic devices and other items related to the case. The suspects were apprehended but have since been released under restrictions pending trial.
One of the detainees, Rogelio “Roger” Nores, claimed to be acting as Liam’s representative in Argentina but was later accused of neglecting the singer’s welfare. Nores denied these allegations, maintaining that he had visited Liam earlier on the day of his death and had no involvement in the tragedy.
The case has drawn significant public attention, raising concerns about celebrity safety and the darker influences surrounding fame. While the suspects await trial, fans and family continue to mourn Liam Payne, who was celebrated for his contributions to music and his legacy as part of One Direction.
