One month after the death of British singer Liam Payne, fans are still awaiting details on his funeral arrangements. The former One Direction member passed away on October 16 after falling from the balcony of his hotel room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Initially suspected to be a suicide, toxicology reports later revealed Payne had hallucinogenic drugs, alcohol, cocaine, and antidepressants in his system, leading investigators to rule his death as accidental. Authorities stated Payne likely fell without full awareness due to his impaired state.
In connection with his death, three individuals have been arrested. One is accused of abandonment, as he was seen leaving Payne’s room just two hours before the fall. A hotel employee faces charges for supplying cocaine to Payne, while a third person is also implicated in narcotics distribution.
Though Payne’s body was released by Argentinian authorities three weeks after his death and transported to the UK by his father on November 6, his funeral has yet to take place. Reports suggest the service will be held in Payne’s hometown of Wolverhampton and will likely be a private event attended by family and close friends.
Fans have also started a petition called “Liam’s Law,” aiming to improve mental health support in the entertainment industry, which has already garnered over 138,000 signatures. Zayn Malik, a former bandmate, recently adjusted his tour dates, fueling speculation that Payne’s funeral may be scheduled
soon.
