Lakers overcome T-Wolves in the 3v3 NBA 2K League playoffs.

On Friday, Lakers Gaming staged an impressive comeback, defeating T-Wolves Gaming 3-2, securing their spot in the upper-bracket final of the NBA 2K League’s 3v3 playoffs in Washington.

The next challenge for the Lakers will be against the Gen.G Tigers, who defeated Magic Gaming 3-1 on Friday.

The T-Wolves started strong with 21-17 and 22-19 victories, but the Lakers mounted a comeback, clinching wins with scores of 22-12, 23-15, and 21-16.

Dhwan “ShiftyKaii” White led the Lakers with average stats of 11.8 points and 2.6 assists per game.

The Tigers initially lost the first game to the Magic 22-11 but then bounced back with victories of 24-20, 23-18, and 22-19.

Jaiden “gallow” Frank led Gen.G with average stats of 15.7 points and 1.7 assists per game.

 

On Friday, in lower-bracket play, Bucks Gaming secured two victories, paving the way for a fifth-round clash against Magic Gaming. The Bucks achieved a clean sweep against Grizz Gaming, winning 3-0, before eliminating the T-Wolves with a 3-1 victory.

 

After their defeat against the Tigers, the Magic bounced back with a 3-1 victory over 76ers GC. Earlier in the day, the 76ers eliminated the last community team, Rim Runners, with a 3-2 outcome.

 

The 3v3 playoffs, featuring a $550,000 prize pool, continue until Saturday. Eight teams are still in contention, with four in the winners’ bracket and four in the losers’ bracket. On Friday, the two losers’ bracket games will kick off proceedings, followed by the winners’ bracket semifinals and two additional matchups.

 

The final day of action on Saturday features the following schedule:

  • Upper-bracket final: Lakers Gaming vs. Gen.G Tigers
  • Lower-bracket fifth round: Bucks Gaming vs. Magic Gaming
  • Lower-bracket sixth round: Winner of Bucks/Magic matchup vs. Loser of Lakers/Gen.G matchup
  • Final: Winner of upper-bracket final vs. Winner of lower-bracket sixth round
  • If the lower-bracket team defeats the upper-bracket team in the final, a decisive match will be held.
