Chelsea’s Under-21 midfielder Kiano Dyer has been named Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October following a series of remarkable performances. Dyer has been pivotal for the team this season, playing in seven out of eight league games and delivering two assists in October alone. His contributions helped Chelsea’s Under-21s secure four victories out of five matches last month, including a standout 6-0 win over local rivals Fulham, their biggest win of the season.
Dyer’s consistent efforts have marked him as a key player since he joined Chelsea from West Bromwich Albion at the under-14 level. Recently, his growth was further recognized when he was named in the matchday squad by first-team manager Enzo Maresca for Chelsea’s Conference League game against Gent, signaling the club’s confidence in his development.
Reflecting on his award, Dyer expressed his gratitude and excitement. “I’m super happy to receive this Player of the Month award,” he said after accepting the honor at Cobham, Chelsea’s training ground. “It means a lot to me. I’ve been working hard since the start of the season, and it’s great to see that recognized. In October, I felt I was putting in strong performances and helping the team as much as I could.”
Dyer extended his thanks to his coach Filipe and the coaching staff, as well as his teammates, crediting their support and teamwork for his success. “All the performances we put in are to get the best for the team and aim for three points each week,” he added.
With high hopes for the remainder of the season, Dyer is eager to continue making an impact and even hinted at aiming for further accolades as the campaign progresses.
