St Mirren Football Club is thrilled to announce the permanent return of Jaden Brown, who has signed a two-year deal with the club. The 25-year-old full-back, who was initially with the Saints on loan from Lincoln City, made a significant impression during his brief stint last season.
Despite limited game time, Brown’s performances in his eight appearances for St Mirren caught the attention of the coaching staff. Manager Stephen Robinson was particularly impressed and decided to bring Brown back to the squad permanently.
Brown, capped by England at the under-19 level, began his career at Tottenham Hotspur. Although he didn’t make a senior appearance for Spurs, he went on to make 31 appearances for Huddersfield Town. His career then took him to Sheffield Wednesday in 2021, where he played a key role in their promotion to the English Championship. After his contract with Sheffield Wednesday expired, he joined Lincoln City in July 2023, making 15 appearances for the Imps.
Expressing his excitement about returning to St Mirren, Brown said, “I’m buzzing to be back. I loved my time on loan here last season. Although I didn’t play as many games as I wanted, being around good people and a successful team was great. Qualifying for Europe was a fantastic achievement. I’m eager to showcase my abilities and hope to hit the ground running.”
Manager Stephen Robinson also shared his thoughts on Brown’s return: “I don’t think people have seen the best of Jaden yet. He came here without much game time, but towards the end of his loan, he really impressed us. It was crucial to have competition for Scott Tanser at left-wing back, and Jaden provides that. He can play in multiple positions, adding strength and versatility to our squad. This competition is vital for progress.”
With Jaden Brown back in the fold, St Mirren is looking forward to a strengthened squad and more competitive matches as they prepare for the upcoming season.
