Mick Mills has insisted that the Ipswich Town players will not slip up against Huddersfield Town on Saturday in their pursuit of automatic promotion to the Premier League.
Ipswich would be promoted to the Premier League if they win this weekend at Portman Road and avoid defeat against Coventry City, who they defeated 2-1 on Tuesday. They are about to become the first team in over ten years to earn consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League.
Leeds United is expecting their rivals from West Yorkshire, Huddersfield, to surprise them on Saturday, but Mills stated that the players from Ipswich will not give up the chance just yet. He emphasized that the Ipswich players’ behavior at Coventry indicates that they have no intention of giving Leeds or any other team any more hope as they pursue automatic promotion.
“I think without a doubt we will accomplish the goal of reaching the Premier League,” the legendary Ipswich player stated on BBC Radio Suffolk. “You just needed to look at the players’ demeanor tonight to know that will occur on Saturday. They are not going to give up now. “They won’t give up now; they have worked so hard tonight to achieve this victory, which puts them in control of their future.”
For over twenty years, Ipswich has been absent from the Premier League.
