The Indiana Fever have officially announced Stephanie White’s return as head coach, uniting her with rising star Caitlin Clark. White previously led the Connecticut Sun for two seasons, posting a remarkable 55-25 (.688) record and reaching the WNBA Semifinals each year. Honored as WNBA Coach of the Year in 2023, White brings proven expertise and a deep connection to Indiana basketball.
White’s coaching history with the Fever spans back to 2011-2016, including a head coaching stint that saw Indiana reach the WNBA Finals in 2015 and secure a championship as assistant coach in 2012. A native of West Lebanon, Indiana, and a Purdue graduate, White is a celebrated member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Now, she’ll guide a Fever squad featuring Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston—who helped the team reach a balanced 20-20 season and a playoff return last year.
Fever President Kelly Krauskopf expressed her excitement: “Stephanie’s deep-rooted knowledge of our culture, championship mindset, and leadership style makes her the ideal fit to lead this group. We’re thrilled to welcome her back as we embark on a new era of Fever basketball.” Krauskopf highlighted White’s exceptional understanding of both the Fever’s legacy and her commitment to advancing women’s athletics.
White’s return has electrified Fever fans, who were vocal in their support. “It’s ring time. LFGG!” and “What a move, Indiana Fever!” fans declared online. White, who played four seasons with the Fever herself, also expressed her pride in returning home to Indiana, eager to build upon the Fever’s legacy and steer the team toward another championship for the WNBA’s most loyal fans.
