Geelong has successfully extended midfielder Tanner Bruhn’s contract for an additional two years, ensuring his stay at Kardinia Park until the end of 2027. Initially signed through next year after transferring from GWS on a three-year deal, Bruhn’s promising performance this season has led to this contract extension.
Geelong’s football boss, Andrew Mackie, expressed excitement about Bruhn’s future with the team. “We are thrilled for Tanner to extend for a further two seasons with us and have him committed to the Club until at least the end of 2027,” Mackie stated. “Tanner has a bright future, and we are excited to see him grow alongside our group of emerging young players.”
Bruhn, a local talent, joined the Cats at the end of 2022 after being drafted by GWS with Pick 12 in the 2020 National Draft. After playing 30 games for GWS, Bruhn moved to Geelong, with the Cats trading a first-round draft selection for his acquisition.
In his first year with Geelong, Bruhn played 19 games and has added 11 more this season, becoming a key player in Chris Scott’s lineup. His current season averages include 18.45 disposals, 4.64 tackles, 3.55 inside 50s, and 5.55 clearances per game, underscoring his significant contribution to the team.
Bruhn’s re-signing follows a series of new deals for other key players at Geelong, including Jhye Clark, Zach Guthrie, Max Holmes, Oisin Mullin, and Mark O’Connor, as the club continues to solidify its roster for future success.
