The Kansas City Current continues their journey in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) playoffs after a 1-0 victory over the North Carolina Courage in the quarterfinals. Temwa Chawinga, who set a single-season NWSL goal-scoring record, scored the game’s only goal at the eight-minute mark, reaching a milestone as the 100th goal in NWSL playoff history. This match was historic, held at CPKC Stadium, the first stadium built specifically for a women’s professional sports team, and marked its first playoff game.
With this win, the Current will face the top-seeded Orlando Pride in the semifinals next week.
