Bronny James, son of NBA legend LeBron James, is currently attracting attention from various NBA teams as the draft approaches. Thus far, Bronny has participated in workouts exclusively with the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers. Speculation has been rife that LeBron might follow his son to whichever team drafts him, but Bronny’s agent has clarified that there is no package deal involving both players.
Bronny made headlines when he announced his decision to enter the NBA Draft after just one season at USC. Initially planning to stay in college, he changed his course right before the deadline to retain his college eligibility, opting instead to focus solely on his professional career. His performance at the NBA Combine further bolstered his prospects, drawing significant interest from teams.
However, despite the interest, only the Suns and Lakers have managed to secure a workout with him. According to Bronny’s agent, Rich Paul, this selective approach is intentional. Paul stated that the strategy has always been to find a team that values Bronny highly and is committed to his development. This tactic has been a common practice for many of Paul’s clients over the years.
While the Suns and Lakers are the only teams Bronny has worked out for, they are not the only ones interested in him. Teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, and Toronto Raptors have also shown considerable interest. For instance, the Mavericks have a close relationship with Bronny through their GM, Nico Harrison, and would be willing to draft him if available.
The draft is set to take place on June 26, and there is much anticipation about where Bronny will land. It’s clear that whichever team drafts him, it will need to offer a guaranteed contract that provides ample opportunity for him to develop at the professional level. Whether it’s the Lakers, Suns, or another team, Bronny’s entry into the NBA promises to be a significant event in the basketball world.
