Breaking:Orlando Star has been ruled out about 6-8 months as he is set to undergo urgent Surgery…
It’s been a good week for Orlando Pirates who beat Europa League winners Sevilla 2-0. Their squad also looks packed to the brim, so they’re reportedly walking away from a deal for young English striker Tremaine Eastmond.
ORLANDO PIRATES DECIDED AGAINST SIGNING EASTMOND
20-year-old Tremaine Eastmond, once part of the youth structures at Burnley in England, won’t be earning a permanent deal with Pirates according to SoccerLaduma. The Englishman initially impressed the club’s staff with his work ethic earlier in the year but that hasn’t been deemed enough to secure his spot on tour in Marbella. New faces in the Pirates squad against Sevilla included teenage winger Mohau Nkota, R11 million Angolan right winger Gilberto and talented playmaker Thuso Moleleki from Orbit College. The Buccaneers also secured a 2-2 draw against English Championship outfit Plymouth. Olisa Ndah and Evidence Makgopa were the scorers in that match.
IS SALENG STAYING? OR GOING
Monnapule Saleng was in the starting XI for Jose Riveiro’s side against Sevilla. Obviously, a friendly match isn’t the strongest indication of what might happen in the upcoming campaign, but it could be a hint. Pirates’ Spanish boss has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal and that’s even before they started their winter recruitment drive. Saleng was on the fringes in 2023-2024 with only 17 appearances; far fewer than the 30 he clocked up in the previous campaign accompanied by 15 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.
