axes Daniel Farke Patrick Bamford: Queens Park Rangers vs. Leeds United XI

It appears that Daniel Farke is poised to implement two alterations to his Leeds United lineup ahead of their match against QPR at Elland Road on Friday, April 26th.

Leeds United secured a crucial 4-3 victory against Middlesbrough on Monday, April 22nd, courtesy of two goals from Crysencio Summerville, along with strikes from Patrick Bamford and Wilfried Gnonto. This win keeps them in the race for automatic promotion with three games remaining.

Given the tight schedule at this critical point in the season, Farke may consider making changes to the lineup to prevent any potential new injury concerns from arising.

Can Joe Rodon play in Leeds United’s match against QPR?

Despite Illan Meslier’s less-than-ideal performance against Middlesbrough, he is expected to retain his position in goal, while Karl Darlow remains as the backup option at Elland Road.

Junior Firpo, who battled through illness to complete the full 90 minutes against Michael Carrick’s side, should be fit to play again after a few days of recovery. Additionally, Joe Rodon, who experienced a calf problem in the same game, is reported to be “fine” and available for selection.

Ethan Ampadu is expected to join them in the center, as he’s considered one of Farke’s key players. However, Sam Byram is likely to return to the bench, with Archie Gray shifting back to the right full-back position.

This adjustment will enable £5 million acquisition Glen Kamara to return to the lineup after missing the last two games. He is set to partner Ilia Gruev in the heart of the midfield, bringing added energy and quality in possession to the team.

Gnonto, Summerville, and Rutter showcased their dangerous form in the Monday night win and are expected to retain their places in the side, especially with Jaidon Anthony and Daniel James nursing injuries from that game.

Despite Patrick Bamford’s goal, his injury history may affect his place in the starting lineup, potentially paving the way for summer signing Joel Piroe to return as the number nine upfront.

It seems like one Sky Sports pundit was highly impressed by a performance from a Leeds United player during the match against Middlesbrough.
