Arsenal’s women’s team is set to elevate their game as they embrace the iconic Emirates Stadium as their primary home ground starting from the upcoming 2024-25 season. The decision, announced by the North London club, marks a significant shift for the team, aiming to capitalize on the stadium’s grandeur and capacity to amplify their presence in the footballing world.
With eight league games and potentially three Women’s Champions League fixtures, the Emirates Stadium promises to be a beacon of women’s football, showcasing top-tier talent in a venue renowned for its electrifying atmosphere. Even in the absence of European qualification, all 11 Women’s Super League games will find their home at the Emirates, subject to scheduling logistics.
This strategic move follows Arsenal’s successful stint at the Emirates this season, drawing impressive crowds averaging 52,029, including two sell-outs and three WSL attendance records. Recognizing the momentum and passion of their supporters, the club is committed to nurturing the women’s game by providing a platform for growth and sustainability.
Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the transition, citing the club’s longstanding commitment to women’s football. He emphasized the collective effort to propel the women’s game forward, echoing the sentiments of fans who have fueled the team’s journey with unwavering support.
The decision also reflects Arsenal’s ambition to break barriers and set new benchmarks in women’s football. With a domestic attendance record of 60,160 set at the Emirates earlier this season, the team is poised to make history and inspire generations to come. Head coach Jonas Eidevall echoed gratitude to the fans, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping the team’s narrative and inviting them to be part of an exciting new chapter at the Emirates Stadium.
As Arsenal Women gear up to write the next chapter of their story, the Emirates Stadium stands ready to witness their triumphs and milestones, setting the stage for an unforgettable season of footballing excellence.
