According to the South London Press, AFC Wimbledon has inquired about Stephen Duke-McKenna, a dynamic midfielder who has been released by Championship club QPR.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Sutton United, making 16 appearances and scoring four goals.

Duke-McKenna progressed through the Everton ranks before joining QPR in 2019.

The Dons began their summer business by signing striker Matty Stevens on a free transfer after he was released by Forest Green.

AFC Wimbledon are set to get a monetary windfall this summer, with former academy graduate Jack Rudoni expected to depart Huddersfield.

According to the South London Press, the Dons negotiated a 20% sell-on fee with the Terriers when Rudoni was sold in July 2022.

Rudoni’s departure from Plough Lane marked the club’s record sale of the Phoenix era at the time, but Ayoub Assal and Ali Al-Hamadi have since surpassed that figure.

The now-22-year-old made over 100 appearances for the Dons in all competitions, scoring 30 goals during his time in the first squad.

Rudoni has played frequently in the Championship for Huddersfield, scoring five goals and assisting three times this season as they were demoted to League One.

The versatile Carshalton-born midfielder has played in a variety of roles for Huddersfield this season, as the Yorkshire club has had three different permanent managers.
