Hartlepool United has made waves in the transfer market by securing Adam Campbell, marking their fourth signing of the summer. The experienced striker joins from Crawley Town following the end of his contract.
Campbell played a pivotal role in Crawley Town’s promotion to Sky Bet League One last season through the playoffs. During his tenure, he featured in 45 league matches, showcasing his prowess with seven goals.
Originally from North Shields, Campbell began his career at Newcastle United, where he made three Premier League appearances during the 2012/13 season. His journey includes a previous loan spell at Hartlepool United from Newcastle, along with stints at clubs such as Darlington and Gateshead, where he clinched the National League North title in 2022.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the move, Campbell stated, “I’m really excited to be here. I know some of the players and staff already, and after meeting the gaffer, I can’t wait to get going. Playing closer to home was a big draw for me, but more importantly, I share the club’s ambition to return to the Football League.”
Campbell’s return to Hartlepool United is expected to bolster their attacking lineup significantly, as they aim to build on their recent successes and push for further achievements in the upcoming season.
