On Saturday, Bayern Munich’s head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed two new player issues in his team.
The situation arose from events during Bayern’s Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt earlier today. The Bavarians prepared for their upcoming Champions League semi-final first-leg clash against Real Madrid by defeating Eintracht 2-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Their win seems to have been overshadowed by some setbacks. During the match, both Konrad Laimer and Matthijs de Ligt had to leave the field prematurely due to injuries. Speaking to the media after the game, Thomas Tuchel revealed the reasons for their early exits: “Konny Laimer twisted his ankle and has a capsule injury. Matthijs de Ligt has an inner ligament injury in his knee. We’ll have to assess their fitness ahead of Tuesday.”
With just three days until their match against Real Madrid, these developments couldn’t have occurred at a worse time for Bayern Munich. On top of that, Jamal Musiala had to withdraw from matchday duties against Eintracht, Dayot Upamecano got injured in training on Friday, Leroy Sané is still unavailable, and Kingsley Coman has been ruled out for the season. As a result, Bayern might be without up to six key players on Tuesday night.
