Bryson DeChambeau has been overwhelmed by the reaction of fans following his dramatic US Open triumph.

Following a stunning performance, aided by Rory McIlroy’s late collapse at Pinehurst, the American has been a man in demand, appearing on NBC’s Today Show and gracing Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. He’s also been swamped by adoring fans eager to touch the iconic trophy, which he has now lifted on two occasions.

The DeChambeau hype train has now chugged into Tennessee for the LIV Golf Nashville event. On the opening day, there were incredible scenes as fans thronged the fairways and greens to catch a glimpse of the 30-year-old.

Overwhelmed by the outpouring of support, DeChambeau said: “Probably a couple thousand by now at least [have touched the trophy]. And it’s going to increase. It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m humbled. Very humbled by it.
