Three individuals have reportedly been detained in connection with the death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, nearly a month after his tragic fall in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Authorities have detained two hotel workers, who are accused of supplying drugs to Payne, as well as a friend of the singer. Reports from ABC World News mention that police raided the workers’ homes and searched their hotel lockers, reviewing security footage from the hotel. Investigators are also looking into a Dove soapbox found at the scene, suspecting it may have been used to smuggle drugs into the hotel.
An autopsy confirmed that Payne’s death was caused by head injuries sustained in the fall, and traces of cocaine were found in his system. Sources close to his family say they are planning a grand memorial service for Payne, likely to be held at a large cathedral.
