U2 Announces New Album and Global Tour for…
Iconic rock band U2 has thrilled fans worldwide by announcing the release of their highly anticipated 16th studio album, Resonance, set for release in early 2025. This marks their first full-length project since 2017’s Songs of Experience. The Irish quartet—Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr.—has teased the album’s sound as a return to their rock roots, mixed with contemporary influences that promise to resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners.
In addition to the album announcement, U2 revealed plans for a massive global tour, The Resonance World Tour, kicking off in Dublin next summer. With stops in major cities across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America, the tour is expected to be one of the biggest in the band’s storied career. U2 will perform a mix of classic hits along with new material from the upcoming album.
Bono, the band’s lead singer, shared, “This album is about finding light in a chaotic world. We hope these songs bring some sense of hope and inspiration.” Meanwhile, The Edge hinted at some special surprises for the tour, including new immersive stage designs and collaborations with other artists.
Fans are eagerly awaiting both the album and the tour, and many industry insiders believe this could be one of U2’s most impactful releases in years, solidifying their place as one of the greatest rock bands in history.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale in December 2024, with pre-orders for the album opening the same month.
