The head coaching job has seen the most changes to the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason as they prepare for the new campaign. The Lakers get new ideas as former NBA guard JJ Redick takes over for former head coach Darvin Ham.The Lakers are quite optimistic about Redick’s potential even if he lacks experience. They think he can make the most of the team’s present lineup by placing the players in positions where they will flourish.Since he retired from basketball a few years ago, Redick has continued to be involved in the sport as an ESPN broadcaster and podcaster. He was hired as the Lakers’ coach immediately after making the NBA Finals call.Redick prioritised hiring more seasoned head coaches to bolster his coaching team because of his lack of expertise. The Lakers revealed the finalised roster of assistant coaches under Redick for the forthcoming campaign. The two most experienced assistant coaches will be Scott Brooks and Nate McMillian. Beau Levesque, Lindsey Harding, Bob Beyer, and Greg St. Jean will complete the team.
Redick has been preparing for this chance for years, but he should benefit from having a team with experience who has seen through the demanding NBA season. Both Brooks and McMillian have a great deal of coaching experience; in 2012, Brooks guided the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals.Along with McMillian and Brooks, Harding joins from his position as head coach of the Stockon Kings, the G-League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings. With them, Harding achieved great success and was named G-League Coach of the Year. There will be no shortage of support for the newly appointed Lakers head coach in his inaugural campaign. In addition to the coaching staff, Redick’s players are a valuable resource.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be part of the squad as it attempts to make another run at the championship. Redick was hired by Los Angeles to assist them in getting over the hump in the competitive Western Conference after they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs the previous season.During the last two postseasons, Los Angeles has faced the Denver Nuggets and lost both series to them. The Lakers’ kryptonite has been Denver, but even though there haven’t been any personnel changes overall, the squad is confident going into the new year. Now that the coaching staff is in place, the Lakers can concentrate fully on preparing everything else for the upcoming campaign.
