Reports suggest that Manchester United are prepared to extend offers for Joao Neves, a midfielder from Benfica, and Bremer, a center-back from Juventus. The club, under the ownership shift with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS purchasing 27.7 percent from the Glazers, is poised for significant transformations in the upcoming summer.
That agreement granted them control over the football operation, leading to the appointment of Omar Berrada from Manchester City as their new CEO. Additionally, Jason Wilcox from Southampton has joined as the new technical director.
Manchester United is gearing up for an active summer transfer window, with reports suggesting they are open to offers for all players except Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo, and Alejandro Garnacho. Reacting to this, former Man Utd striker Andy Cole commented to Betfred, “If it’s accurate, then it’s the nature of football. Everyone has their price. It could indicate a need for a thorough overhaul this summer. However, if such a clearout does occur, the question arises: how long will it take for them to return to where they need to be? Manchester United has been in a rebuilding phase for a decade now, yet they don’t seem any closer to their desired position, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
Casemiro is among the players likely to depart, and according to Portuguese newspaper Record (via Sport Witness), an ‘official offer’ for Benfica midfielder Neves is anticipated soon. The report suggests that Manchester United is poised to ‘advance’ for the Portuguese international.
Manchester United are also prepared to offer Bremer an annual salary of €10 million, an offer he finds appealing. However, the potential deal is uncertain as Juventus is aiming for €70 million for their prized center-back.
Regarding Marcus Rashford’s potential departure from Manchester United for £70 million, Cole commented in his interview with Betfred, “As the old saying goes, you’re only worth what somebody is willing to pay for you. It’s that straightforward.”
“If Manchester United values him at £70 million and a club is willing to meet that price, then he’s valued at £70 million. If another club offers only £50 million, then his value becomes £50 million. Your worth is determined by what someone is willing to pay for you, whether it’s buying a house, a car, or in this case, a player in football.”
In recent weeks, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes hinted that his future at Old Trafford might not be long-term. Responding to Fernandes’ remarks, Cole stated, “We’re not privy to daily developments. But regarding interviews, particularly in written form, I don’t pay much heed. The context can be twisted to imply a desire for a transfer when that’s not the case at all. With written press, I disregard it entirely.”
