Sydney Swans have successfully fended off interest from rival clubs as Logan McDonald commits to a four-year contract extension. The talented forward, who attracted attention from Fremantle and Collingwood, will remain with the Swans until the end of 2028.
McDonald’s decision follows recent signings of key players like Errol Gulden, Will Hayward, Ollie Florent, and James Rowbottom, cementing Sydney’s core team ahead of the upcoming season.
Last week, McDonald’s near miss with a kick after the siren against Fremantle marked the end of the Swans’ impressive 10-game winning streak with a one-point loss. Reflecting on his commitment, McDonald expressed immense satisfaction staying at the Swans, describing the club as his second home where he’s formed strong bonds over the past four years.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to continue in the red and white. The camaraderie here is unmatched, and I’m eager to contribute to our competitive spirit and aim for premiership glory,” McDonald remarked.
McDonald, drafted as the No.4 pick in 2020, has scored 22 goals in 15 games this season, adding to his tally of 78 goals across 59 appearances for the club.
