Arsenal target Viktor Gyökeres has been on fire for Sporting CP this season, scoring 23 goals in just 17 appearances. The Swedish striker reportedly has a “secret” agreement with Sporting president Frederico Varandas, allowing him to leave next summer for €75 million—a discounted fee compared to his €100 million release clause. This agreement, however, only applies after the current season, meaning that any club seeking to buy him during the winter transfer window would still have to pay the full €100 million.
Gyökeres’ impressive performances, including a hat-trick against Manchester City, have drawn interest from several top clubs, including Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, along with both Manchester clubs. Arsenal, in particular, could benefit from adding Gyökeres to strengthen their attack as they aim to contend for the Premier League title under Mikel Arteta. With multiple clubs interested, Gyökeres’ future destination remains uncertain, but it is clear he will be a highly sought-after player when the transfer window opens.
