Wrexham AFC star Elliot Lee has shared a heartfelt message after revealing how he narrowly avoided death in a car crash.
The 30-year-old and former West Ham United player was travelling home after the Red Dragons’ 1-0 Vertu Trophy win over Bolton Wanderers at the Racecourse Ground last Tuesday night when the two-vehicle collision occurred, with both drivers quickly rushed to hospital. Despite escaping any serious injuries, Lee has missed has shared a heartfelt message after revealing how he narrowly avoided death in a car crash.
Lee has now provided an update on social media, with pictures of his mangled car showing how lucky he was to emerge relatively unscathed.
“It has been overwhelming to see how much people care and the love and support I have around me with my family and friends. It has been a tough week, but I’m feeling very lucky and very grateful.”
Lee expressed his gratitude to the emergency teams who attended the collision, with the nature of the injuries sustained by the other driver currently unknown. He also voiced his thanks for all the well wishes he has received, saying “it means a lot”.
