The University of Tennessee continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail, adding another key piece to its 2026 class with the commitment of highly versatile athlete Luke Thompson out of Franklin, Tennessee. Thompson, a standout at Franklin High School, announced his decision via social media, choosing the Volunteers over interest from a number of SEC and Power Five programs.
At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Thompson is the type of dynamic, multi-positional talent that modern college football programs covet. During his junior season, he lined up all over the field — excelling at wide receiver, defensive back, and returning kicks — showcasing elite athleticism, football IQ, and an ability to make plays in space. His speed and agility allow him to cover ground quickly, while his strong hands and route-running have made him a favorite target in the passing game
