Ohio Stadium, affectionately known as “The Shoe,” is set to undergo a significant transformation in 2026 with the introduction of premium seating in the south end zone. This development aims to enhance the game-day experience for fans while preserving the stadium’s storied tradition.
The renovation will feature nine elevated field-level suites, each accommodating 12 guests, positioned directly in front of the south stands. Above these suites, 400 premium chairback seats—the widest in the stadium—will be installed, offering fans unparalleled proximity to the action on the field.
Access to these premium seats will be through the same tunnel used by the Ohio State Buckeyes, providing an exclusive and immersive experience. Additionally, ticket holders will enjoy entry to the new 1922 Club, a climate-controlled hospitality space offering all-inclusive food and beverages before, during, and after games.
The 1922 Club, named in honor of the stadium’s inaugural year, will also be accessible on non-game days, featuring a restaurant open from Tuesday to Saturday and opportunities for private events. Members will benefit from dedicated restrooms, a premier entrance, and exclusive merchandise.
Ohio State’s Athletic Director, Ross Bjork, emphasized that this project reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing the fan experience and modernizing the stadium while honoring its rich history. He stated, “This addition is designed for passionate members of Buckeye Nation, bringing greater comfort, improved access to the field level, and a wider range of seating options to better serve even more fans.”
As part of the renovation, the Ohio State University Marching Band will relocate to the north end of the stadium, returning to its pre-2001 position. This move aims to improve sound projection and enhance the overall atmosphere during games.
Deposits for the premium chairback seats are currently being accepted, with each seat priced at $6,000 for the season. Suite sales will commence at a later date, with interested fans encouraged to stay informed through the official Ohio State athletics website.
