
Terron Armstead, the Miami Dolphins’ stalwart left tackle and five-time Pro Bowl selection, has officially announced his retirement from the NFL, bringing to a close an illustrious 11-year career that saw him rise from small-school standout to one of the league’s most respected offensive linemen. Known for his elite athleticism, technical precision, and leadership both on and off the field, Armstead’s decision marks the end of an era for the Dolphins and the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
Armstead made the announcement via a heartfelt message shared through the Dolphins organization and his personal social media platforms, thanking his family, coaches, teammates, and fans who supported him throughout his journey. “It’s been an incredible ride—one I could’ve only dreamed of as a kid from Cahokia, Illinois,” he wrote. “I’ve given everything I had to this game, and now it’s time to embrace the next phase with the same passion and purpose.”
Originally selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints out of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), Armstead’s rise to prominence was anything but conventional.
