ATHENS, GA — In a major recruiting coup that’s sending shockwaves through the college football landscape, the Georgia Bulldogs have landed one of the crown jewels of the 2026 recruiting cycle: five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.
Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Curtis is widely regarded as one of the most complete quarterback prospects in the nation. At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, he brings a rare blend of size, arm strength, athleticism, and football IQ — traits that have made him a household name among top programs for the past two years.
Now, he’s a Dawg.
“This is a game-changer,” said a source close to the Georgia staff. “Jared isn’t just another top recruit — he’s a program-defining talent. He brings championship DNA and will elevate everyone around him.”
Curtis chose Georgia over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, and Tennessee, citing the Bulldogs’ player development, national championship pedigree, and offensive vision under head coach Kirby Smart and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.
A New Era in Athens
Curtis’ commitment marks the first five-star to join Georgia’s 2026 class, instantly propelling the Bulldogs to the top tier of recruiting rankings. His presence is expected to attract a wave of elite talent on both sides of the ball — a “magnet effect” often seen when a cornerstone quarterback commits early.
“This is the kind of QB that makes receivers want to play with him and linemen want to block for him,” said DawgsHQ recruiting analyst Jeremy Johnson. “He’s a leader, a competitor, and a future face of college football.”
Curtis by the Numbers
Passing Yards (2024 Season): 3,682
Touchdowns: 41
Interceptions: 3
Rushing Yards: 412
Quarterback Rating: 142.8
Curtis led his high school team to a state championship appearance last fall, earning state player of the year honors and cementing his status as a blue-chip recruit.
Looking Ahead
With the 2026 season still far on the horizon, Georgia fans won’t see Curtis in the red and black just yet. But his commitment is a massive win for a program that continues to reload rather than rebuild.
As the Dawgs eye another national title run this fall, the future is already looking brighter than ever in Athens.
The next great Georgia quarterback may have just arrived.
