
After months of speculation surrounding his future, Zayden High is expected to rejoin the University of North Carolina men’s basketball program for the 2025-2026 season. The forward, who took a leave from the team during the 2024-2025 campaign, has reportedly been in close contact with UNC coaching staff throughout his time away and is now preparing for a strong return to Chapel Hill.
High’s decision to rejoin the Tar Heels is being welcomed with enthusiasm by fans and coaches alike, who see his return as a critical piece to the team’s outlook for the coming year. A versatile forward known for his combination of size, athleticism, and shooting touch, High was a highly-touted recruit out of Texas and showed flashes of his potential during his initial stint in the Carolina Blue.
While he didn’t see extensive playing time during his freshman year, High made a mark in limited minutes with his energy, court awareness, and mid-range shooting. More importantly, his maturity and work ethic earned praise from teammates and coaching staff.
