After four remarkable years with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Jack Sawyer has officially closed the chapter on his college football career, announcing his entry into the 2025 NFL Draft. A native of Pickerington, Ohio, Sawyer grew up just outside Columbus and always dreamed of wearing the scarlet and gray. That dream became reality when he became the first commit in head coach Ryan Day’s 2021 recruiting class.
Sawyer’s tenure at Ohio State was defined by leadership, grit, and production. Though he had opportunities to leave early, he chose to return for his senior year with a mission: beat Michigan, win a national title, and leave a lasting legacy. He accomplished those goals, helping lead the Buckeyes to a national championship and solidifying his role as one of the team’s most important leaders.
In his final season, Sawyer posted career highs across the board: 59 tackles, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, and an interception. His relentless motor and ability to impact games at key moments made him a top NFL prospect by the end of the year. NFL teams have taken notice, with the Cincinnati Bengals among those expressing interest during Ohio State’s Pro Day.
As Sawyer now prepares for the next level, his time at Ohio State stands as a testament to loyalty and determination. He entered the program as a fan and leaves as a champion, ready to carry that same passion into the NFL. For Buckeye Nation, his contributions will be remembered long after his final snap in Columbus.
